MOVE. EAT. BREATHE.

Health coaching that isn’t for weight loss.

YES, you can.

Take it from me: you don't have to lose weight. Yes, really. You simply don’t have to. You are allowed to make choices that serve your health, your happiness, and your peace - and have nothing to do with weight loss.

“Health” is a loaded word for many people, and health coaching can mean a lot of different things. For me, it means disentangling your weight from your overall health and looking beyond the scale to make you feel better in the body you’re in.

MOVE your body.

I am not going to tell you to do a particular exercise program. I promise you that you don’t have to do any exercise you hate - really! The most important thing is that you integrate mindful movement into your life in a way that makes you feel calm and confident, not exhausted or stressed.

As a certified fitness instructor, I have the knowledge to help you improve functional movement and the passion to work with you and find a way to move that makes you happy.

EAT real food.

Paleo, Whole30, intermittent fasting, intuitive eating, veganism, something about having pizza every day?? Eating has become extremely complicated in our diet culture, especially for women. Marketing and overprocessing have created extremely addictive foods that do the opposite of what food is meant to do - nourish our bodies and give us energy!

And that doesn’t even include the complicated mindset that we all have around food - there is so much emotion, memory, shame, and guilt that we experience around food and eating, it’s no wonder that we just feel like giving up.

I don’t believe in “good” and “bad” foods. I don’t believe anything is “off limits.” And I don’t believe that there is only one definition of healthy. I DO believe that you can have a relationship with what you eat that nourishes you and brings you joy.

BREATHE in and out.

This isn’t about following a diet or exercise plan. This isn’t even about transforming your body (though that can certainly happen!). This is about directing your attention to your mindset and growing more present and connected to your daily life and the people around you.

If the idea of “mindfulness” makes you roll your eyes, that’s okay. If you think that mindfulness is only for people with a lot of free time, quiet, and one of those little gongs, that’s okay too. No matter where you’re coming from, paying attention to your habits will give you an entirely new relationship with yourself, and the ability to be more present in your relationships with others.

Changes don’t happen overnight, so take a breath and take it at your own pace.

“Working with Shannon is inspiring. She is incredibly supportive, and even when I feel like I made a mistake or fell off the wagon, she makes me want to keep going!”
